ECoI forum is to establish an action and solution driven structure, represented by corporate businesses, aimed at addressing:

•    Major Service delivery problems and backlogs both at Provincial and Local Government level.
•    Implementation of Joint CSI and outreach programs.
•    Participate in key Local Government institutional processes such as IDP, Budget etc.
•    Promote international business collaboration interest  through Lobby & Advocacy

KEY FOCUS

The key focus areas of ECoI Forum are the following:

•    Implementation of Corporate Social Investment (CSI) and social outreach programs.
•    Enhance projects to improve service delivery.
•    Coordinate of projects to support Local Economic Development.
•    Functional dialogue structures with local government institutions in cooperation wit the EBA.
•    Promote regional business interest through lobby and advocacy.
•    Continuous level network opportunities

DELIVERABLES

The forum is based on an action driven approach and the deliverables of the forum is anticipated as:

Strategic framework

The strategic framework will create the cornerstone to guide the implementation of all initiatives and include the following:

• Determine the joint priorities for implementation to avoid ad-hoc interventions but focus efforts towards strategic priorities.
• Define the approach and methodology as to ensure the support of all stakeholders.
• Formulate governance processes and procedures to guide implementation to ensure effective control of project funding.

Visible service delivery improvements

The Forum will address service delivery problems through active engagement and to implement projects that will assist in resolving or alleviating service delivery problems but not taking over government functions or competencies.

Active dialogue structures

The Forum will create functional structures for dialogue with local government and government institutions. The dialogue structure will focus on the following aspects:

• Public participation on the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) of the local municipality.
• Input and engagement on the annual budget of the local municipality
• Promotion of local economic development.
• Service delivery of key government institutions i.e. SAPS, Education, Health etc.
